In my solo exhibition titled "Twilight Vision" held in the old city of Jaffa, I explored the blend of tragedy and optimism, fantasy and reality, along with the complexities of fears and hopes. The title evokes the connection between imagination and the here-and-now, reflecting the diverse themes present in my work. Over the past two years, I created pieces using a mix of acrylics, pastels, and papier-mâché, which allowed me to experiment with colors and explore richness in texture. Drawing inspiration from influential local artists, I aimed to address themes of identity, gender, and our everyday experiences.

For this exhibition, I also designed a print catalog and handled the graphic design elements, ensuring a cohesive visual experience that complemented my artwork. Collaborating closely with the curator and gallery owner allowed me to refine the presentation and layout of the show, which ran for two months. During this time, I had the opportunity to guide visitors through the exhibition, sharing insights about my works and the inspiration behind them.

Embracing Materials and Techniques

In my artwork, I make use of a variety of materials that enhance the narrative depth of my pieces. By employing rich colors and an abundance of details, I aim to approach serious subjects from a naive perspective, creating a contrast that invites viewers to engage with complex themes in a more accessible way. This interplay between vibrant aesthetics and thoughtful content not only enriches the visual experience but also encourages reflection and dialogue on the underlying issues within my work.
